BuildAudit Privacy Policy

Effective June 15, 2026

BuildAudit is designed to keep your site photos and project records on your own device and in your own private iCloud account. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and what choices you have.

1. Information the app handles

BuildAudit handles the following to provide its features:

  • Photos you capture in the app or import from your library, stored on your device.
  • Project details you enter, such as project name, client name, and site address.
  • Location data (with your permission) attached to photos so they can be stamped with where they were taken and matched to the nearest project. Location is only accessed while you use the app.
  • Photo metadata such as capture date/time and device model.
  • Company / contractor details you optionally enter for your PDF reports.
  • Voice notes and captions you choose to add.

2. How your information is used

Your information is used only to operate the app's features — to capture and organize your photos by project, stamp them with date/time/location, generate the PDF reports you choose to share, and sync your data across your own devices via iCloud.

3. Data storage

Photos, projects, notes, tags, and your company details are stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, this data is also synced to your own private iCloud database under your Apple ID. The developer has no access to your private iCloud data, and the app does not upload your photos or project data to any developer-operated server.

4. Third-party services

BuildAudit uses Apple system services only:

  • Apple iCloud / CloudKit to sync your data within your own Apple account.
  • Apple Maps (MapKit) to convert GPS coordinates into a readable address. Coordinates are sent to Apple for this lookup.
  • Apple App Store / StoreKit to process optional Pro subscriptions. Payment is handled by Apple; the developer does not receive your payment details.

The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking.

5. Data sharing

BuildAudit does not sell or share your personal information. Reports and exports are shared only when you explicitly choose to, using the iOS share sheet, to recipients you select.

6. Your choices

  • Grant or deny camera and location access in iOS Settings.
  • Edit or delete projects, photos, and company details in the app.
  • Use the Storage tools to free space or export and remove project data.
  • Delete the app to remove local data, and manage iCloud data from iCloud settings.

7. Children's privacy

BuildAudit is a tool for professionals and is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time, with an updated effective date.
